Field Trip to Limerick

King John's Castle

King John’s Castle, Limerick

Saturday, 12th September, 9.45am, leaving from Garden Vale. Schedule includes visits to the Hunt Museum, King John’s Castle, and Sarsfield Barrack.

The Old Athlone Society annual field trip is to Limerick on 12 September. The coach is free to members but there will be a small cost to visit the Hunt Museum and King John’s Castle.

The bus will leave from Garden Vale at 09.45 am and return at about 6.00 pm.  It is recommended that you park in the Sheraton Car Park for the day. Cost is 3 euro.

Can members, who are planning to attend, contact Richard Collins by 16 August as we need to book a coach of the appropriate size. The itinerary has been kindly organised by Comdt Murtagh Brennan.

Hunt Museum
Tour to commence at 12.00 midday and to last one hour. The group can be split in to different sub groups depending on the size and each sub group can start on different floors (at same time). Lunch is booked in the Hunt museum for our entire group at 1 pm. The cost of the tour is Euro 3.00 per person, payable on the coach.

King Johns Castle
This tour is booked for 14.30 and is a self guided tour (each individual gets a set of ear phones and a portable dictaphone). The cost per adult is Euro 7.75.

Sarsfield Barrack
Tea and coffee and biscuits at a nominal fee (to be confirmed).
